Genealogical Gazetteer of Austria Never before was a complete listing of all the localities in Austria, pertaining to registers of catholic parishes before 1939, available; all which researchers had on hand, be they amateurs or professional genealogists or even archivists, was a bewildering multitude of outdated individual rosters, if that at all. The sole exception were the archives of the diocese of St.Pölten, Linz, Gurk and Graz-Seckau, while all other Austrian dioceses were not served at all. We
can offer a complete listing of about 35.000 towns, villages, market-towns
and sundry communities, also including single farm-holdings, estates,
castles, as well as about 750 mills , with nearly 3.000 localities with
hyphenated definitions like Klein - ,Gross-, Unter-, Hinter-, Vorder-,
Ober-, Nieder-, Bad-, Alt- Neu-, which in addition nevertheless also
appear without these pre-fixes - equally included are even former, now
