Researching your ancestors – since 1989

IHFF is there for you to answer your questions on what is written in your old family documents, on the origins, occupations and destinies of your ancestors, the meaning of your surname or a potential family coat of arms.

Our research area covers Austria and many countries of the former Austro-Hungarian monarchy (including the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Tyrol) as well as Bavaria. We examine religious as well as seigniorial records for traces of your ancestors and transcribe (translate) old writings that are often hard to read. You will receive the results of our research together with their source references and explanations. In the case of large projects, we can also deliver them in the form of a book.
